To celebrate Chinese new year we made colourful Chinese dragons for art. We also made paper lanterns to celebrate the Chinese lantern festival. The boys and girls listened to the stories of the origins of the lantern festival from over 2000 years ago and how the Chinese animals of the Zodiac were selected by the Jade Emperor. The dragon continues to overcome until it finds success! We decorated our lanterns traditionally with images of fruit, flowers and trees.
